Vishapakar (dragon stone) complex (4th-2nd millennium BC)

It is located in the central part of Karmir Sar (Tirinkatar) ancient site of Avan village, Aragatcotn region, RA, on the southern heights of Aragatc mountain. They are not in their original position, they are lying down and have been covered by earthen fill for centuries.
There are 12 dragon stones (vishapakar) in total: 8 are bull-shaped, 4 are fish-shaped. They are mainly of gray basalt, one of them is red-brown.
The Vishapakar complex was presented to the expert commission of the RA ESCS in 2023 by Armen Asatryan, a researcher of the SRCHCH, and received the status of newly discovered.
