Saint Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church of London

Saint Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church of London is located in the Kensington quarter of the capital of Great Britain (St. Sarkis Armenian Church, Iverna Gardens, Kensington, London, W8 6TP, UK).
The construction works of the church were sponsored by Armenian businessman and philanthropist Galust Gulbenkian. It was built in 1922-1923. The architects are Arthur Davis and Charles Mewes.
It was built of stone brought from Portland.
In 1937, an apse-shaped baptismal font was built in the northern part of the church, and the church was widened on the western side to accommodate more people. Later, in 1950, a tabernacle was added in the southeastern part.
St. Sargis Church in London is a copy of the belfry of Haghpat monastery.
On the khachkar dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide in the yard of the church, there is an inscription:
“HOLY / ECHMIADZIN / MONUMENT TO THE VICTIMS OF THE APRIL MARTYRS / IN THE NAME OF FAITH AND MOTHERLAND”.
