Because of rescue, scientific, and restoration excavations, tens of structures are discovered every year in the Republic of Armenia. They are also discovered thanks to professional surveys and calls from citizens.
Known and newly discovered structures – architectural, archaeological, historical, artistic, etc. – are studied in detail by the researchers of the Scientific Research Center in the form of scientific expeditions before receiving the status of a monument.
The structures that have received the status of monuments, after the studies and comparison with the relevant standards, are registered and taken under state protection.
The restoration of historical and cultural immovable monuments, as well as archaeological findings, have been one of the priorities of the Scientific Research Center since its foundation.
The approach of the Scientific Research Center to the preservation of monuments is as follows: “To preserve the monument in the present, ensuring its future.”
The popularization of the historical and cultural heritage by various means is one of the priority directions of the Scientific Research Center. We are sure that the citizen who knows the monument and loves it is the best guarantee of the protection of the monument.
