The monument is located in the Gegharkunik region of RA, in the central square of Vardenis city (sculptors: Hov. Hovannisyan, R. Ekmalyan). The monument is made of basalt.
In the centre of the complex rises a tetrahedral memorial column, the front of which is designed with vertical waves. On the right side of the memorial column is the memorial wall, on which are depicted bas-reliefs of a soldier and a wounded man, as well as a sword and a shield. The memorial wall is completed with a flower belt and a flower sculpture below. On the left side of the memorial wall, near the tomb of the unknown soldier, there is an aluminium statue of a kneeling woman.
On the right side of the memorial wall is engraved: “Eternal glory to the soldiers who died for the motherland. 1941-1945”, and on the northern facade, “The monument was built in 1967, on the 50th anniversary of the October Socialist Revolution”.
