Representatives of Japan at the Center

On April 22, members of the Accounting Chamber of Japan, representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, and representatives from the Georgian office of the Japanese company “JICA” visited the Scientific Research Center of Historical and Cultural Heritage.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the work and capabilities of the Research Center’s Archaeological Finds Restoration Laboratory, as well as the effectiveness of the Japanese government’s donation in the restoration of finds.
The Director of the Center, Khachik Harutyunyan, presented to the guests the successes of the restoration laboratory over the past four years, the numerical indicators of annually restored items, the number of items transferred to museums, archaeological excavations carried out by the Center, as well as other projects.
The parties expressed a desire to implement new joint projects in the future.
