Zoological Discovery From The Great Tatev Desert

In 2025, during the excavations of the Great Tatev Desert (expedition leader – A. Nalbandyan), an almost complete bat skeleton was discovered in the southern sacristy of the church, which was a rather interesting specimen.
Our scientific research centre, remaining true to its principles and cooperating with specialists from various fields (biologists, palaeozoologists, geologists, botanists, and others), has handed over this noteworthy material to the Head of the Department of Biology of the Faculty of Biology of YSU, Associate Professor A. Ghazaryan, for study and permanent preservation.
We believe that the research will yield interesting results, and we will learn certain details about the endemic species of the area.
