The Great Tatev Desert Restoration Project conference

On June 12th, a conference dedicated to the excavation and restoration of the Tatev Desert, as well as the preservation and sustainable development of the cultural heritage of the Vorotan Gorge, was held at the French Institute of Armenia.
The event was organized by the Research Centre of Historical and Cultural Heritage and the Embassy of France in Armenia, in collaboration with the French Institute of Armenia.
Khachik Harutyunyan, Director of the Research Centre of Historical and Cultural Heritage, delivered the welcoming remarks. He emphasized the role and significance of international cooperation in preserving Armenian monuments.
Following the opening ceremony, leading specialists in the field delivered their presentations.
Among them were:
Fatma Keben – Head of Historical and Cultural Heritage and Cultural Programs at the Embassy of France in Armenia and the French Institute in Armenia.
Staff of the “Research Centre of Historical and Cultural Heritage” SN-CO:
Lusine Tumanyan – Head of the Monitoring Group for Armenian Monuments of Artsakh and the Diaspora, Senior Researcher at Matenadaran.
Anahit Yesayan – Restorer at the Department of Restoration of Archaeological Finds.
Nanar Kalantaryan – Architect, Researcher.
Also presenting were:
Hussem Dlala – Architect and Engineer of Historical Monuments at the research bureau Atelier-Ergon.
Guillaume de Borpère – Architect of Historical Monuments.
Suren Tadevosyan – Master’s student in “Restoration of Architectural Heritage” at NUACA.
Arev Samvelyan – Architect, Lecturer at NUACA and co-founder of “Re-School.”
Lusine Igityan, Deputy Head of the Department of the Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, was present at the conference.
The event was also attended by architects, restorers, other specialists in the field, students of the French Institute, and guests interested in cultural heritage.
The conference took place in a warm and constructive atmosphere. Participants expressed their gratitude to the Research Centre for Historical and Cultural Heritage and the French Institute of Armenia for the excellent organization of the event and for providing a unique opportunity for professional dialogue.
