The reinforcement works carried out in the Yereruyk temple in 2024 were summarized

On November 8, in the settlement of Anipemza, the works planned for the first phase of the strengthening and partial restoration of the early medieval temple of Yereruyk, funded by the “Foundation for the Protection of Cultural Values of the USA Ambassador” and organized by the Scientific Research Center of Historical and Cultural Heritage, were summarized.
Let us remind you that the current phase was intended to strengthen the foundations of the temple, cages of staircases and walls up to 2m high by appropriate pouring, as well as organize drainage. At the same time, it was also planned to remove the remains left during previous restorations. The planned works were carried out in full.
The following people took part in the event: Arman Saribekyan, the head of the Ani community; Varazdat Poghosyan, the head of the Anipemza community; Khachik Harutyunyan, the director of the Scientific Research Centre of Historical and Cultural Heritage; Lusine Igityan, the deputy head of the Department of Historical and Cultural Monuments Protection of the Ministry of ESCS of the Republic of Armenia, Levik Ghukasyan, the Director of “LEVGUK” LLC, which carried out the reinforcement works, representatives of the National University of Architecture and Construction of Armenia, our Scientific Research Centre, the Municipal Council, the regional employees of the Monuments Protection Service and the residents of Anipemza.
The director of the scientific research centre, Khachik Harutyunyan, gave a brief presentation on the reinforcement works of the temple. In his speech, the director emphasized the important role of the “USA Ambassador’s Fund of the Preservation of Cultural Values”, the RA Ministry of ESCS, the community, the architects, and the people who carried out the works and were involved in it, in the successful implementation of the project. Khachik Harutyunyan expressed hope that the started works of strengthening and partial restoration will continue next year.

The Scientific Research Center for Historical and Cultural Heritage awarded certificates of appreciation to the Director of “LEVGUK” LLC Levik Ghukasyan, the employees and the artisans of the company for their conscientious work and high responsibility during the months of the work. A certificate of appreciation was also given to the Head of Anipemza Community Varazdat Poghosyan for his comprehensive support throughout the work.The event concluded inside the temple with beautiful performances by duduk player Arsen Petrosyan and qanon player Astghik Snetsunts.
