The Restoration of the Medieval Baths of the Ancient Lori City-Fortress is Being Completed

The restoration and reinforcement works of the large and small medieval baths, located within the ancient Lori fortress-city, are nearing completion. These works were carried out by order of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, and according to a project prepared by the “Scientific Research Centre of Historical and Cultural Heritage” SNCO.
As part of the restoration project, the centre’s expedition carried out continuous excavations here in 2023-2025, as a result of which the main structure, the pool, the drainage system, and the columns of the hypocaust (underfloor heating system) were uncovered.
